Brought my Impala 3 months ago and want to say that it is a lovely E-Bike even for the bigger man, Gareth was very helpful when I had a small issue with it and sorted it straight away. Have had quite a few comments when out riding it.

    Thanks Dave

I have not ridden a bike since two years, and I took to this thing like a fish into water. The box came with all the accessories you might need, which was a very nice touch, (Hex key set, with screw driver, ect,) I'll start with the positives!

The throttle is incredibly handy to get a head start without needing your pedals in the "sweet spot" that most cyclists with a traditional bike would need.

As this is a 32 kg bike you would think that using it without the electric assist is impossible but this is far from the case. On a straight-ish terrain (no grass/ect) you can switch it off and ride around pedestrians and park areas with no worries.

Infact I would say that to keep your speed safe and slow using the throttle is extremely handy as by pedaling at all you will start to stream ahead quite quickly which is something to keep aware of.

On the flipside if you need to shift this thing has five different effective power settings which could suit your needs depending on the terrain.

It is a very stable vehicle like previously mentioned. I haven't touched a bike for two years and haven't had the slightest stability issue except when coming to a stand still which takes some getting used to.

Which leads to my single few negatives so far: As someone who is 5'8, I can easily mount this bike, but if I were say.. 5'4 or something of that nature I think it would be rather difficult to stop the bike and keep it balanced at a stop. When they call it "Big Game Bike" They really mean it. I would struggle to recommend it if someone were under my height as this is currently on the lowest settings for both the seat, and the handlebars for me, Let alone someone shorter.

Secondly, and this may sound rather naive but I am incredibly unfamiliar with bike setups in general. I think it would be a very nice touch if it would be possible to have a comprehensive "Out the box setup" video for those who aren't mechanically minded like myself.

That's it. Thank you for reading!

Hi Laurence, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and helpful review. There is the option to remove the suspension seat post which would lower the saddle height by about 3 inches and even the sprung saddle can be replaced further lowering the ride height. Personally, when I come to a stop I tend to move forward to come off the saddle so both my feet are on the ground, then with one foot on a peddle I can then stand up unto the first peddle stroke to get going whilst then sitting back down on the saddle. Give that a try yourself and let me know your thoughts.

This is my first Ebike and was unsure if an Ebike would be for me, after speaking with Gareth and the information and advice given I chose the Impala. As a motorbike rider it would have to have comfort and oomph after my first ride I was smiling ear to ear the range has been excellent with the 24ah battery would recommend the alarm as well very sensitive and loud £49 to protect £2000, no brainer. 5 🌟 service 👍

The first week is over and the bike has been very good, I was also asked about it by a co-worker so they have been advised of your site. This distance has come out more than expected due to road restrictions but the battery coped well. Maintenance was minimal, needed to tighten the spokes and adjust the front disc brake but that's it.  Feedback for future models, as I am aware you have input yourself on this. 1 more gear? Sometimes I feel I could go a little faster (without assistance) but I was used to a mountain bike before. Thank you for your customer service, you went above and beyond. Work is hectic currently as a new role but if I do get time to do a Youtube video I will link you a copy Thanks again. Marc

The impala is a great bike first and foremost for anyone wanting an electric bike with a great range. This goes up to a different level for someone in my circumstances. I have arthritis in both my hands and knee and I thought my cycling days were behind me but Gareth with lots of understanding was able to tailor a solution to my needs. What I can say about Big Game Bikes is the bikes are of a high quality but what makes them stand out is the level of service that comes with it.

I simply suggest that you get in touch with Gareth and he will find the best solution for you.

The Impala from BGB was the choice this time after I try to purchase twice from Radpower bikes in Holland . Not to go into to much detail I was quiet disappointed with Radpower’s service and info about availability and transport times!

No such problems with the BGB team! I had my bike within a week shipped from Poland ! All specs like advertised and of good quality!

If I count all the extras I put on my Radrunner I could have bought the Impala instead ! It’s not cheap at nearly €2000 now , but if you want a reliable fat tyre bike with 20” wheels the Impala certainly fits this bill ! Above all I came to the conclusion. that BGB service from

Gareth is second to none and this is very important ! Best of luck for your second year in business!

The bike is amazing and very fun to ride. I love the stability I feel on the bike with that added comfort from the suspension seat and forks at the front it gives the right amount of assist I want exactly at the time I need it, the lights are perfect for nighttime or morning riding also the rack at the back gives me more options for storage if I need it

Last but not least the service was very good and made the bike experience buying from big game bikes excellent

THIS BICYCLE IS AMAZING! I was looking for a bike with excellent range, comfort, and the ability to fold the bike when we travel in our camper. I could not be happier. The range is amazing, 80 to 100km on a charge, no problem. The suspension seat post and spring saddle make this bike extremely comfortable. Build quality is excellent. My wife really wants one now. Thanks for all your help Gareth, I really appreciate it.

Loving riding my Impala through the beautiful Shropshire countryside. It is surprisingly powerful and easy to cover 20-30 mile rides with minimal effort. The double battery means 100k plus journeys are easily done with no risk of losing battery power! Gareth has provided excellent customer service and is readily available and responsive to any queries or difficulties you may encounter. The wait for delivery was well worth it. And there are many upgrades available to suit your individual requirements! One very happy punter!

I purchased an Impala from Big Game bikes in September last year and have nothing but praise for Gareth and the excellent service he has given, and continues to provide. After the purchase, I wanted my bike set up in a specific way and Gareth has provided excellent support to help me achieve this. Since purchasing the Impala I have clocked up nearly 300 miles - it is a sturdy bike and a really comfortable ride. The e-power is amazing and in my experience, the battery really lasts. I'm sure you're wondering what the downsides are, for me it is that being a sturdy bike means that some people might find it a little heavy, Overall, I cannot recommend Gareth and the Impala enough. My only advice would be to contact Gareth and discuss your needs before purchase.
